GINORMOUS, AWESOME, SMANTASTIC NEWS (and other stuff)!

I am absolutely thrilled to announce that I have signed with Atria books, a division of Simon & Schuster. The decision to move away from self-publishing BEAUTIFUL DISASTER was not taken lightly, but speaking with Judith Curr, Atria’s publisher, and editor Amy Tannenbaum, it didn’t take long for me to decide it was the best decision for Travis and Abby’s story, and my readers. Atria is as passionate about BEAUTIFUL DISASTER as I am, and the process, albeit at a much faster pace than I am used to, has been overwhelmingly positive. I am so excited to show you the amazing things Atria is doing with BEAUTIFUL DISASTER.

I want to thank my brilliant (and patient) agent, Rebecca Watson of Valerie Hoskins and Associates for every step she’s taken to ensure a comfortable and smooth transition.

Some of you may have also heard the title for Travis’s POV announced by the AP last night: WALKING DISASTER. I would like to qualify that WALKING DISASTER is not a sequel. I am writing Travis’s story of BEAUTIFUL DISASTER as planned. However, WALKING DISASTER is definitely a different animal. You’ll see inside Travis’s head (that’s a whole new ballgame, trust me) and experience many scenes you didn’t get to see in BEAUTIFUL DISASTER, as well as an exciting look into their future. I know I’ve said that I would try to finish WD in the fall, and I will, but production takes time. If you’ve yet to check out the teaser from WD’s chapter two, you may do so HERE.

Friends, don’t fret about the release date. Just seeing what Atria has done with BEAUTIFUL DISASTER so far, WALKING DISASTER will be worth the wait! I hear your disappointment, but we all know you can’t rush Travis Maddox!

Thank you so very much to all who’ve offered their congratulations regarding the announcement. I am working under a deadline, as well as heavily involved in production of BD, and trying to balance that out with responses. Please be patient. I love and deeply appreciate you all for your part in bringing BEAUTIFUL DISASTER to this level, and I can’t wait to see where we’ll go next!

Happy Dances, Squees, and Bear Hugs,

-Jamie
