So close! We were SO CLOSE! I watched you all beg. Plead. Repeatedly. I was so proud! That kind of hard work could not be ignored! Even though we missed the mark by a few, Atria and I both agree that the cover had to be revealed. 9 million bagillion levels of MMM MMM GOOD can not and should not be kept secret.

A few points to attend to:
Some have asked about the significance of the butterfly, since it is also featured on the Beautiful Disaster cover. Justin McClure’s team, who designed the Beautiful Disaster cover, came up with the concept. Butterfly in a jar = Beautiful Disaster. The butterfly is simply something beautiful in a disastrous situation. On the WALKING DISASTER cover, we pulled the most eye-catching piece from the BD cover, the butterfly, into the WD cover to give a sense of continuity. Abby could be thought of as the butterfly in BD; Travis is wearing the butterfly as a tattoo on his arm in the WD cover. What I really like about it is that the tattoo metamorphoses into a real butterfly. To me, Travis is the butterfly, and WALKING DISASTER is a way for him to express himself, freeing his heartbreak and inner turmoil.
There has been no new movie news, but I assure you, things are moving along as they should! Warner Brothers has purchased the option to bring BEAUTIFUL DISASTER to the big screen. The contract has been signed. Donald De Line is set to produce. I have no more information at this time, but soon Lysa, my trusty web designer, will create a movie news tab here on the website, where you can always check up on the latest developments as they arise!
Walking Disaster, at this time, is still set for a April 16 release date. No sequel is planned, but I have a feeling after readers finish WALKING DISASTER, readers will be more than satisfied! Walking Disaster carries the story beyond where Beautiful Disaster ended. Many of the questions readers had at the end of Beautiful Disaster are answered (I listen to you!), AND there is a fantastic, fun, and surprising glimpse into Travis and Abby’s future!
We have started something fun and exciting called “Travis Tuesday”. Tuesdays are a great time to check out my website, Twitter, or Facebook page to see what challenges Atria might have in store for you!
I hope everyone in NYC and surrounding areas hit by Hurricane Sandy are safe! I worry about you guys, and I think about you all the time. Sending love and light your way!
I am still on maternity leave, so I very much appreciate your patience on my Facebook page and Twitter as I’m tending to baby barf and stacks of dirty diapers. Baby spawn is thriving, and loves his mommy. We are loving our growing family, and look forward to the holidays.
Speaking of our growing family…we have another new addition to our ranch: Dallas. He’s our new quarter horse, a paint, and is the apple of Oldest Spawn’s eye.
I hope you all are in bookcoverlove as much as I am, but as excited as I was to show you this cover, I’m even more so to show you the book inside!

<3,
Jamie
